Mexico City's Photography Archive joins National System of Photo Libraries

The Museo Archivo de la Fotografía (MAF), located in Mexico City's Historic Center at the Casa de las Ajaracas, has been incorporated into the National System of Photo Libraries of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

This agreement provides technical support for documentation, digitization, research, and dissemination. It also ensures the preservation of the photographic heritage held by the institution, which focuses on the urban transformations of the capital throughout the 20th century.

The museum serves as a space for conservation and research, encouraging visitors to view historical images as documents that require context—such as authorship, date, and provenance—to fully understand the urban changes they depict.
