Mexico commemorates independence anniversary with regional ceremonies
Various regions in Mexico held ceremonies and parades to commemorate the anniversary of the country's independence.
In Sinaloa, the state government held a ceremony at the Government Palace Plaza Cívica. The event was led by Silvia Evelyn Ward Bringas, representing Interim Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava, and included representatives from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as members of the armed forces. The ceremony featured the raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem to honor the consummation of independence in 1821.
In Teapa, Mayor Miguel Angel Contreras Verdugo presided over a civic parade involving educational institutions, local associations, and families. The parade included an inclusive opening by students from the Centro de Atención Múltiple (CAM) No. 8 and featured the municipal official escort.
