Mexico completes white maize incentive payments for 2025 cycle
Mexico’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRICULTURA) has completed 100% of the white maize incentive payments for the Spring-Summer 2025 agricultural cycle in the states of Campeche, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Querétaro, and Tlaxcala.
The incentive provides 800 pesos per ton of grain sold. To date, the program has directly benefited 39,257 small and medium-scale producers, covering the commercialization of more than 2.67 million tons of corn for a total of 2,139 million pesos.
To address outstanding cases, the ministry has established a specialized assistance desk to help producers complete their documentation and resolve issues with their files. Additionally, the operational mechanics for the Spring-Summer 2026 agricultural cycle have been published, which will include an agricultural insurance component to protect rural family assets.
