Mexico conducts joint security ops rescuing 155 in Oaxaca and bolstering Aguascalientes‑Zacatecas border

Operation “Pescador” in Oaxaca’s Central de Abasto rescued 155 vulnerable individuals. The effort combined 481 personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office, the State Investigation Agency, the National Defense Secretariat, the National Guard, municipal police and health services, which provided medical care and transported the rescued to rehabilitation centers.

The interinstitutional “SAGAZ” (Seguridad Aguascalientes‑Zacatecas) operation deployed permanent patrols, checkpoints and helicopter surveillance along the Aguascalientes‑Zacatecas border. State security secretary Antonio Martínez Romo highlighted coordination with the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the state prosecutor’s office to deter crime and reassure local families.
