Mexicali police officer detained for alleged involvement in feminicide

An officer of the Municipal Police of Mexicali, Luis Mario «N», was arrested by agents of the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) for allegedly facilitating the escape of a gunman who shot a woman in the Parajes de Oriente neighborhood on 11 June. The incident left the 43‑year‑old victim, Selene Agramont, seriously injured, and she later died. The officer is accused of driving the assailant’s vehicle and helping the perpetrator flee the scene. The Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) has placed the officer under custodial detention, pending further judicial proceedings, and reiterated its commitment to investigate crimes against women with vigor.
