Argentina economy grows 2.7% interannually in June

Argentina's economic activity showed a mixed performance in June 2026. According to INDEC, the monthly indicator rose by 0.8% compared to May, while the interannual growth reached 2.7%. The economy accumulated a 1.9% growth during the first half of the year.

Sectoral performance revealed significant disparities. The fishing sector led with a massive 247.6% interannual increase, followed by mining and quarrying at 15.6%. Agriculture, livestock, hunting, and forestry also grew by 4.6%. Conversely, the public administration and defense sector declined by 1.5%.

In terms of labor and inflation, the wage index rose by 2.9% in June, outpacing the monthly inflation rate of 1.9%. However, industrial capacity utilization remains low at 59.1%, with the automotive sector seeing an 18% drop in infrastructure use. While primary sectors drive growth, labor-intensive sectors like manufacturing and commerce show more moderate recovery.
