Mexico expands agricultural beverage sectors in coffee and wine

Mexico is strengthening its position in the agricultural beverage sector through both coffee and wine industries. As one of the world's top ten coffee producers, the country features diverse growing regions, including Comala in Colima, known for its high-altitude coffee near the Volcán de Fuego, and Cuetzalan in the Sierra Norte of Puebla, which has a coffee-growing history dating back to the 1860s.

Simultaneously, the Mexican wine industry is expanding its commercial footprint. To support this, the Consejo Mexicano Vitivinícola (CMV) has organized a series of business-to-business activities, training, and gastronomic events surrounding the official Mexican Wine Day on October 7. In collaboration with GS1 México, the CMV is hosting initiatives like the 'Fábrica de Negocios' to connect wineries with distributors and buyers, aiming to increase the presence of national labels in restaurants and retail markets.
