Mexico expands housing program to 24,000 homes, benefits 200 families in Morelos and Ario

Governor Margarita González Saravia of Morelos announced that the state has raised its target under the federal Programa de Vivienda para el Bienestar from 10,000 to 24,000 homes. The increase follows coordination with the national government and includes the provision of land and urban infrastructure in Cuautla, where a new Infonavit development is under construction by a local company. The project foresees the building of 13,000 homes in Morelos with an estimated investment of 8.15 billion pesos, and will also host the México Imparable program with sports and youth facilities.

In the municipality of Ario, mayor Yohana Mendoza presided over the signing of adhesion agreements for more than 200 families. The local government donated land for the federal housing allocation, and the National Housing Commission will deliver the homes in the medium term. Mendoza thanked President Claudia Sheinbaum for championing the program, noting the expected improvement in living standards of life and economic security for the beneficiaries.
