Mexico expands pension for senior men and free public transport for vulnerable groups

The Government of Mexico City announced an expansion of the Pensión Hombres Bienestar, a social benefit that provides a bimonthly payment of 3,000 pesos to men aged 60‑64. The program will increase its coverage from 110,000 to 154,000 eligible men, with registration to open later and priority given to those aged 63‑64.

The State of Mexico government, led by Governor Delfina Gómez, has allocated roughly 664.6 million pesos to subsidise more than 68 million free trips on Mexibús, Mexicable and the Chalco‑Santa Marta trolleybus. The scheme, running from July 2024 to July 2026, targets seniors, people with disabilities and children under five, reducing transport costs for these groups across the state.
