Mexico expands senior discount programs in Guerrero and Chiapas

The state of Guerrero launched the "Tarjeta Dorada" for residents aged 60 and over. Holders can receive discounts of up to 35 % on vehicle registration, 30 % on property‑registry fees, 50 % on water and property taxes, and reduced rates for driver’s licenses, civil‑registry services and more than 500 participating merchants. Applications are processed in person at the Instituto Guerrerense para la Atención Integral de las Personas Adultas Mayores in Chilpancingo.

Separately, the national Institute for Older Adults (INAPAM) listed Potzollcalli Restaurante Mexicano in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, as a beneficiary of its 2026 senior‑benefit directory. Card‑holders receive a 15 % discount on food items (excluding alcoholic drinks) at the specified location, subject to verification of the INAPAM credential.
