Mexico expands support services for migrants in US and repatriation programs

The initiative aims to facilitate the return of deported or repatriated Mexicans to their home communities, offering support at various entry points including airports and land borders.

In the United States, state authorities from Morelos are providing mobile support services during traditional carnivals in Chicago and New York. These services help migrants access official Mexican documentation, such as voter IDs and dual nationality paperwork, without needing to travel back to their home municipalities.

To mitigate the risk of immigration raids during these festivities, organizers have moved celebrations from public squares to controlled indoor venues. Exact locations are being shared privately with community members to ensure safety while maintaining cultural traditions.
