Mexico expands teacher training for 2026 school year and violence‑prevention workshops
The Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Baja California (COBACH BC) held an instructor‑training program at its Nueva Tijuana campus on August 4‑7, preparing 28 teachers for third‑semester courses and 40 teachers for first‑semester courses. The workshops focused on the Model Educativo 2025 and the Nueva Escuela Mexicana approach. COBACH BC Director Ma. Teresa Banda Bañuelos said the training supports Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s education policy and aims to improve the quality of instruction for students across Baja California.
In Guanajuato, about 50 middle‑school tutors attended a workshop titled “Prevention of Sexual Violence in Dating,” organized with the Instituto de Salud Pública del Estado de Guanajuato (ISAPEG). Psychologists Iván Israel Morales González and María del Carmen Arvizu García led the session, providing tools to identify, prevent, and address violence in young relationships and emphasizing the role of educators in fostering safe, respectful school environments.
