Mexico expands technical school slots and launches AI, cybersecurity degrees

The Colegio de Educación Profesional Técnica del Estado de Chihuahua (Conalep) announced the opening of 800 new educational slots at its Centro de Asistencia y Servicios Tecnológicos (CAST) in Juárez. The summer program runs from 3 to 28 August and targets new‑entry students, while also offering courses in Physical Activation, Spanish, English, Mathematics and Socio‑emotional Development for third‑ and fifth‑semester students. Director Omar Bazán Flores highlighted that participants can receive a state‑government mobility scholarship.

Separately, Universidad Anáhuac Cancún revealed plans to start undergraduate programs in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The initiative is linked to the upcoming Cancun Financial District and aims to train at least 30 students per cohort. The university will also open a 620‑square‑metre Technology and Finance Hub equipped with digital‑twin simulation tools, supporting collaboration between academia and industry leaders.
