Claudia Sheinbaum delivers Pension Mujeres Bienestar cards in Zacatecas

President Claudia Sheinbaum visited Río Grande, Zacatecas on 11 July 2026 to hand out cards for the Pension Mujeres Bienestar programme. She stressed that the benefit is a constitutional right, not a handout, for every Mexican woman who reaches 60 years of age. The rollout covers 36,205 women aged 60‑64 in the state, with an automatic transition to the senior‑age pension at 65, and a total of 205,340 beneficiaries of the elder‑pension scheme in Zacatecas. During the same visit Sheinbaum announced the continuation of the guaranteed price for beans to support about 16 000 local producers and highlighted other Bienestar programmes such as scholarships, youth employment and environmental initiatives. The government also released the July payment calendar for the pension, specifying that beneficiaries will receive a bimonthly transfer of 3,100 pesos according to an alphabetical schedule of surnames.
