The Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento of Juárez (JMAS) delivered 500 water‑storage tanks to families in the Los Kilómetros zone on 30 km kilometre‑30 distribution centre, raising the programme’s progress to more than 60 % of its 3,000‑tank target and aiming to complete deliveries by August. Deputy Xóchitl Contreras praised JMAS, emphasizing water as a basic right and warning that municipal planning failures have allowed irregular settlements to expand without services. In a separate effort, JMAS began repairing the Candelaria sewer collector after three subsidence incidents on Clara Fuentes avenue, replacing 90 metres of pipe and closing the affected road segment while alternate routes are advised for motorists. Both actions are intended to improve water access and sanitation infrastructure for the city’s vulnerable residents.
