Guanajuato shooting kills four men after football match

Four young men were killed and three others wounded in a shooting following an amateur football match in the rural village of Malvas, located in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Authorities reported that the attack occurred on Wednesday as seven youths from neighboring communities were leaving the field.

According to police sources, unidentified gunmen approached the group and initiated a chase. Three victims were shot at an initial location, while a fourth was killed a short distance away. The motive for the attack remains unclear, though the region is known to be under the control of drug cartels. Guanajuato is recognized as one of Mexico's most violent states due to organized crime activity.

Local police launched an operation to locate the suspects, but no arrests have been made. This incident follows a similar tragedy in January in San Francisco del Rincón, where 11 people were killed and 12 injured during an armed attack at a local football game.
