Mexico Governor Samuel García faces corruption complaint
Morena's state leadership in Nuevo León filed a formal complaint with the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) accusing Governor Samuel García and his wife Mariana Rodríguez of financial triangulation and misuse of public resources for personal promotion. The complaint was presented in Mexico City by Anabel Alcocer, president of Morena's state executive committee, who said the scheme involved payments from state suppliers to the law firm Firma Jurídica y Fiscal Abogados, linked to García and his father, and onward to a communications firm that bought digital advertising for the governor’s image.
The party also indicated that a multimillion‑peso contract between the Monterrey municipality and Next Energy, involving the current mayor and former senator Luis Donaldo Colosio, will be part of the investigation, alleging broader misuse of public funds across recent administrations.
