Mexico SEP announces 2026 high school assignment results
Mexico's Ministry of Public Education (SEP) has released the results for the 2026 ‘Mi Derecho, Mi Lugar’ high school assignment process. According to Secretary Mario Delgado Carrillo, 99.2% of the more than 191,000 applicants were assigned to one of their top three preferred educational options. For students who did not receive their preferred placement or missed the initial window, an extemporaneous registration period will run from August 19 to August 26, 2026.
In Michoacán, the government has launched the ‘D4TA Datos Gratis’ program to improve digital connectivity for the 2026-2027 school year. The initiative provides free mobile internet, including 4 GB of data, social media access, calls, and messages. While initially focused on students, the program has expanded to include high school and university teachers to support academic development. Registration for this benefit is available through September 4.
In the Mexico City Metropolitan Area, students can consult available openings in institutions that do not require entrance exams, such as COLBACH, CONALEP, and DGB, via the official ECOEMS electronic gazette.
