Mexico highways face major traffic disruptions following truck accidents

Multiple heavy vehicle accidents on major highways in Mexico caused significant traffic disruptions and cargo theft.

On the Mexico-Puebla highway, a trailer carrying wooden pallets overturned after striking a retaining wall near kilometer 129+400. The driver reportedly fled the scene. The accident resulted in kilometer-long traffic jams that lasted over seven hours, forcing some drivers to seek alternative routes such as the Puebla-Tehuacán federal highway. Traffic began to normalize after 10:00 hours once the vehicle was removed.

Separately, on the Orizaba-Puebla highway (150D) near Esperanza, a truck transporting hundreds of chickens overturned due to a suspected mechanical failure. The accident blocked both lanes and caused a fuel spill. During the incident, local residents arrived at the scene and looted the cargo, taking a large portion of the chickens. The resulting traffic congestion extended over 15 kilometers toward Maltrata, Veracruz. National Guard elements and emergency services responded to manage the scene and clear the roadway.
