Mexico holds inclusive 5K races in Zinacantepec and Monclova

Zinacantepec, State of Mexico, hosted the inaugural 5 km Inclusive Race on 23 August as part of the Festival Gastronómico del Mar 2026. The free event featured separate men’s and women’s divisions, age categories from youth to veterans, a wheelchair category, and a pet‑friendly race. More than 30,000 pesos in prize money and commemorative medals were offered, with additional gifts for participants and families.

In Monclova, the Cámara Nacional de la Industria de Transformación (Canacintra) organized its seventh Industrial 5 km Race on 6 September. Aimed at workers and their families, the race required a 380‑peso registration fee and offered a kit, medals, and a chance to win a trip to Puerto Vallarta. Categories spanned ages 15 to 60 plus, with a special division for Canacintra members. The event emphasized health promotion, workplace safety, and community cohesion.
