Mexico holds military commemorations and prepares for major 2026 exhibition

In Tenancingo, Mexico, a civic-military parade was held to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the municipality being named ‘Ciudad Heroica’. The event featured participants from the Mexican Army and the National Guard, who marched through main streets accompanied by military vehicles and tactical equipment. The designation of Tenancingo as ‘Ciudad Heroica’ was granted on September 30, 2021, in recognition of the town's historical role during the Mexican War of Independence.

Separately, the municipal government of Ciudad Madero has joined the coordination for ‘La Gran Fuerza de México 2026’. This large-scale military exhibition, organized by the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) in conjunction with the state government of Tamaulipas, is scheduled to take place from October 1 to 27 at the Tampico Fairgrounds. The event aims to strengthen ties between the Armed Forces and society by showcasing the capabilities of the Army, Air Force, and National Guard through 22 interactive modules, including demonstrations of paratroopers, special forces, and canine training.
