Mexico hosts 14th International Relations Book Fair
Mexican Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco Álvarez inaugurated the 14th edition of the International Relations Book Fair at the Matías Romero Institute. This year's event focuses on reflecting upon diplomacy in the face of force within a turbulent global landscape.
Velasco Álvarez emphasized that under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, Mexico practices a diplomacy based on principles and results. He noted that the nation's preference for law over force is a long-standing tradition, citing historical examples such as the asylum granted to Spanish Republicans in 1939 and the recent response to the incident at the Mexican Embassy in Quito in 2024.
The fair includes 50 exhibitors, including publishing houses, universities, think tanks, public agencies, and diplomatic missions accredited in Mexico.
