Mexico hosts forums to integrate youth voices and AI innovation into policy

In Mexico, legislative and municipal leaders are hosting forums to integrate youth perspectives into social and economic policy, with a specific focus on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI).

In Mérida, Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada presided over an open council session where young citizens presented proposals regarding social development and the responsible use of AI. These initiatives aim to utilize technology to address youth needs, strengthen the productive sector, and improve urban environments.

Nationally, Deputy Gabriela Jiménez Godoy and CONCANACO SERVYTUR México organized the ‘Voces del Futuro’ forum. The event brought together over 500 young people from across Mexico's 32 states to discuss innovation and civic participation. Jiménez Godoy emphasized the need to ensure AI generates opportunities and reduces inequality rather than widening existing gaps. CONCANACO President Octavio de la Torre also called for increased access to credit and reduced bureaucracy to support youth entrepreneurship.
