Mexico housing agencies provide free mortgage cancellations

Mexican housing institutions are implementing measures to provide free property deed processing and mortgage cancellations for citizens who have completed their housing credit payments.

In Michoacán, FOVISSSTE executive vocal Jabnely Maldonado Meza signed an agreement to allow families with a 'Constancia de Finiquito' to undergo the mortgage release process at no cost. During the event, 387 certificates were delivered, contributing to over 7,000 benefits provided in the state through the 'Vivienda para el Bienestar' program.

In Sonora, more than 500 families in Hermosillo received free Infonavit mortgage cancellations. This initiative, supported by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño, aims to provide legal certainty over family assets by eliminating previous costs that ranged between 16,000 and 20,000 pesos.
