Mexico authorities report missing person data and property restitution

Mexico's Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB) reported that data cross-referencing via the Single Identity Platform has identified 40,628 records of missing persons showing subsequent activity. Since legal reforms in July 2025, 6,939 individuals from this group have been located. Authorities noted that 86% of recent localizations through territorial brigades were voluntary absences not linked to crimes.

In Tijuana, the State Prosecutor's Office arrested two individuals, Andryk Gael “N” and Julián Alejandro “N”, for the aggravated kidnapping of migrants. The investigation revealed the suspects were part of a criminal cell involved in kidnappings and homicides, following a ransom demand made in August.

In the State of Mexico, the “Restitución” Operation has successfully secured 2,439 properties related to theft and dispossession across 21 municipalities. To date, 1,618 properties have been returned to legitimate owners, many of whom are vulnerable populations such as senior citizens. The operation involves coordination between the State Prosecutor, the Secretariat of National Defense, and the National Guard.
