Mexico implements accessibility and inclusion initiatives in Yucatán and Hidalgo
Efforts to improve accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities are being implemented in various Mexican sectors. In Yucatán, the Secretariat of Tourism Promotion (Sefotur) and the Institute for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Iipedey) concluded a training program for tourism guides and staff. The initiative focused on providing tools to improve service and ensure more autonomous and inclusive experiences for visitors with disabilities and their families.
In Hidalgo, the San Francisco Pachuca 2026 Fair has introduced measures to facilitate access for visitors with reduced mobility. Through an alliance between the State Event Operator (OEEH) and the local Human Rights Commission, volunteers provide orientation, accompaniment, and maps of accessible points. The fair features ramps, preferential zones in the Megadomo de las Estrellas, and free access to certain attractions to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
