Mexico imposes provisional duties on Chinese colored float glass

Mexico's Ministry of Economy has issued a preliminary resolution to impose provisional compensatory duties on imports of colored float glass originating from China. The decision follows an antidumping investigation into alleged unfair trade practices involving price discrimination.

The investigation was initiated following a request by Vidrio Plano de México, S. A. de C. V. The scope of the investigation covers colored float glass with a thickness between 2 mm and 19 mm, manufactured through the float process. The analysis period for potential damage spanned from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024.

The provisional compensatory duty is set at 0.11917 USD per kilogram. This measure applies to both definitive and temporary imports and is scheduled to enter into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
