Mexico intensifies searches for missing women Genesis Dibanhi and Dafne Garcés

In Ciudad Juárez, Mexican authorities carried out a raid in the Lucio Blanco colony as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 17‑year‑old Genesis Dibanhi Enríquez Cárdenas, reported missing on 19 April 2022. The operation involved the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Women Victims, the Special Unit for Missing Persons, the State Investigation Agency, the National Guard and the Secretariat of National Defense. No new evidence was disclosed, and the case remains open; two suspects previously convicted of forced disappearance have already received 25‑year sentences.

Meanwhile, posters bearing the photo of 21‑year‑old Dafne Giselle Garcés Juárez have appeared in Veracruz and other states, urging the public to help locate her after she vanished on 26 March 2022 in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico. The State of Mexico government and its Prosecutor's Office are offering a reward of up to 300,000 pesos for information leading to her whereabouts. Her family continues active searches, including a recent visit to the port of Veracruz. Dafne’s case is one among more than 14,700 unresolved missing‑person reports in the State of Mexico.
