The Mexican federal government confirmed a major cyber‑attack on the Coordinación Nacional de los Programas para el Bienestar, leaking personal, banking and identity data of millions of welfare‑program beneficiaries, including pensions, scholarships and the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro scheme.

Coahuila’s cyber police issued an urgent notice about “SIM‑swapping” attacks that hijack users’ phone numbers to access banking and messaging apps.

A separate warning from the Secretaría de Gobernación highlighted a fraudulent social‑media notice falsely claiming prizes linked to telecom companies, urging citizens not to share personal data.

In Argentina, scammers are targeting TelePASE toll‑road users with phishing emails, SMS and WhatsApp messages that mimic official communications and siphon banking credentials.

Chile’s NOVARED security firm cautioned that the upcoming CyberDay sales will see a spike in phishing, smishing, infostealer malware and deep‑fake scams aimed at impulsive online shoppers.

All alerts advise verifying official URLs, avoiding unsolicited links, monitoring bank statements and reporting suspicious messages to the relevant cyber‑crime units.
