Mexico judiciary workers protest for wages and against harassment

Workers of the Federal Judiciary in Campeche, Mexico, are protesting for salary increases, better working conditions, and an end to workplace harassment. The Union of Workers of the Federal Judiciary (STPJF) has displayed banners at various judicial buildings to demand a salary hike corresponding to 2026, retroactive payments, and relief from excessive workloads.

In response to these labor tensions, PRI deputy Rubén Moreira Valdez has called on the Judicial Administration Body (OAJ) and the Judicial Discipline Tribunal (TDJ) to investigate allegations of harassment, hostility, and workplace violence without retaliation. Moreira Valdez specifically highlighted reports from workers in Campeche and demanded transparency regarding the criteria used for the assignment and reassignment of judges and magistrates.

Furthermore, the legislator requested that the OAJ conduct a diagnostic study to address the loss of experienced personnel following the implementation of the new judicial model. This study would aim to identify vacancies and substitutions to ensure that changes in the judiciary do not compromise the quality of justice or institutional knowledge.
