Mexico launches first Judo Down workshop for adaptive sports coaches
The Mexican National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE), the Mexican Paralympic Committee (COPAME), the Mexican Federation of Special Athletes (FEMEDE), and the Mexican Judo Federation have launched the first Judo Down workshop for coaches and referees in Mexico.
Hosted at the CONADE pavilion, the three-day training program aims to improve the quality of technical staff and promote adaptive sports for individuals with Down syndrome. The workshop features international experts, including instructors from Argentina and Spain, such as Leonel Allo and Juan José Reboredo.
The initiative serves as preparation for the Third World Games of Trisomy 21, which are scheduled to be held in Mexico. Miguel Ángel García Meza, president of FEMEDE, stated that the program is designed to strengthen the development of sports trainers and foster true inclusion within the Mexican paralympic culture.
