Mexico launches integrated travel booking on Visit México platform
The Mexican federal government has launched a new e-commerce module on its official tourism platform, Visit México, allowing travelers to book integrated trips in a single transaction. Developed by the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT) in coordination with the federal Tourism Secretariat, the module integrates flights via Mexicana, Tren Maya rail tickets, and accommodations at Grupo Mundo Maya hotels.
The Tren Maya component covers eight operational segments connecting the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo. The service offers several fare classes, including Premier, Turista, Turista Local (for residents of the five affected states), Tarifa Especial (for seniors, students, teachers, and those with reduced mobility), and Tarifa Convenio (for military and specific government employees).
Mexicana flights available through the platform cover 20 domestic destinations, including Tulum, Cancún, Mexico City (AIFA), and various other regional hubs. Payments are accepted via Visa and Mastercard. This digital integration aims to simplify travel planning for both national and international tourists while strengthening connectivity in the southeastern region of the country.
