Mexico launches livestock aid programs in Quintana Roo and Guerrero
The Secretariat of Agricultural, Rural and Fisheries Development (SEDARPE) began delivering in‑kind assistance to livestock producers in the community of Nicolás Bravo, Quintana Roo, as part of a state program that will benefit 661 cattle owners with an investment of 12.842 million pesos. The aid includes improved pasture seeds (Brizantha, Mombasa, Mulato II), mineral supplements and balanced feed, with the largest beneficiary municipalities being Othón P. Blanco (309 producers) and Bacalar (197). Women producers are also represented, with 177 recipients. Jorge Aguilar Osorio, head of SEDARPE, said, “El sector ganadero es fundamental para el desarrollo de Quintana Roo… seguiremos trabajando de manera cercana…”.
In Guerrero, PAN deputy Jaime Torres announced the delivery of breeding studs to local cattle producers under the state’s “Cuenta Conmigo en el Campo” program. The initiative provides economic subsidies and in‑kind support aligned with the 2022‑2027 State Development Plan, aiming to raise productivity and offset high input costs. Torres emphasized, “Seguiremos dando continuidad a las gestiones para que estos apoyos lleguen a quienes los necesitan y fortalezcan la productividad del campo”.
