Mexico: State governments launch legal campaigns and report on regional progress

Various Mexican states are implementing the ‘September, Month of the Testament’ campaign to encourage citizens to formalize their wills at preferential costs. Initiatives are active in Michoacán, Sonora, Chihuahua, Baja California, Guanajuato, and Chiapas, with some regions like Chiapas extending the campaign for 100 days.

In Tamaulipas, Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya has launched the 2026-2027 school year with over 354 million pesos in support for basic education students and announced a tour to attend municipal government reports. Meanwhile, in Michoacán, Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla attended President Claudia Sheinbaum’s second government report, highlighting regional progress in infrastructure, health, and education.

In Michoacán, the electoral institute (IEM) has sworn in four new counselors following a federal ruling, though the body currently lacks a permanent chairperson. Additionally, the Cobaem in Michoacán has extended registration for its Saturday high school program for adults through September 5.
