Mexico launches new rehabilitation unit in Juárez and child mental‑health center in Aguascalientes

The Universidad Tecnológica de Ciudad Juárez opened a Basic Rehabilitation Unit (UBR) that can treat up to 80 patients daily, expanding from 20. The facility includes mechanotherapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy labs, a social‑work area, and a new ambulance equipped under NOM‑034 standards. Funding came from the state DIF (920,000 MXN for equipment) and the university (1.4 million MXN for the ambulance). It aims to serve the city's 300,000 residents and train physiotherapy students.

In Aguascalientes, Governor Teresa Jiménez inaugurated the "Cielo Claro" child psychotherapy unit at Parque El Cedazo. The center provides mental‑health services for children, adolescents and their families, featuring spacious therapy rooms, gardens, and a terrace for group workshops. Officials highlighted its role in addressing autism, ADHD and other emotional needs, with low‑cost consultations available weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
