Mexico launches online tool to check mobile numbers linked to CURP
Mexico’s telecom operators are required to provide an online service that lets users verify how many mobile lines are registered under a single CURP (for individuals) or RFC (for businesses). The portal displays only the last four digits of each line, enabling users to recognize which numbers belong to them.
The service, explained by David Pizaña, vice‑president of e‑commerce at the Internet Association, also allows users to unlink lines they no longer use, such as lost chips or numbers changed through port‑ability. When a number is ported to a new carrier, a new linkage must be created and the user receives a confirmation on their device to confirm ownership.
