Mexico launches Operativo Verano Seguro 2026 at Playa Miramar

On July 3 2026, officials inaugurated the Operativo Verano Seguro 2026 at Playa Miramar in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. Representing Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, Tourism Secretary Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez led the ceremony alongside municipal, state and federal authorities.

The operation aims to protect the expected 1.4 million summer visitors and boost regional tourism revenues by more than 1.3 billion pesos. Security will be provided by the Mexican Army, Navy, State Guard, Civil Protection, municipal transit, the Red Cross, CAPTA tourism, Ángeles Verdes and other agencies. Visitors were urged to follow safety measures such as respecting beach flag signals, avoiding swimming after alcohol, not driving vehicles on the sand and not discarding glass bottles.

Present were Mayor Erasmo González Robledo, commander of the 15th Infantry Battalion Alfredo Anastasio Castillo Moreno, First Naval Zone commander Fernando Rodríguez Cuevas, Port Authority director Ángel Fernando Cervantes González and National Guard coordinator Jesús Adolfo Amparán Hernández.
