Mexico launches school safety and violence‑prevention programs in Chihuahua and Hidalgo

The State Investigation Agency’s School Orientation Group (GOECHI) held a preventive awareness day at the Federal Secondary School Francisco Villa in the community of El Pueblito de Allende, Chihuahua. Specialized staff met with students, teachers and parents to discuss early detection and prevention of sexual violence, bullying, abuse and drug‑related offenses, using participatory activities and information tools.

In Hidalgo, the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado (COBAEH) announced a series of measures to improve school climate, including a semester‑based Violence Diagnosis survey, regular training for teachers and administrators on human rights and gender perspective, and the new “Agents of Change” program that will involve senior students as peer promoters. The initiative targets the system’s 133 campuses and aligns with the state governor’s agenda to foster safe, inclusive educational environments.
