Mexico launches second generation of AI training for 23,000 youth

The Public Center for Artificial Intelligence Training has launched its second generation in Mexico, enrolling 23,000 young people. The initiative is a collaboration between the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT), the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti), and the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP).

José Peña Merino, head of the ATDT, stated that the program aims to provide intensive training in artificial intelligence, networks, cybersecurity, data analysis, and cloud computing. The curriculum also includes English language instruction and tutoring to improve labor market access. The agency has set a goal to issue 25,000 AI certifications by the end of 2026.

Mario Delgado, Secretary of Public Education, noted that the center is an initiative of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo designed to democratize access to technological knowledge through free, official certifications.
