Mexico launches 'Transparencia en Corto' youth video contests on AI and misinformation

The Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (SABG) has opened the state‑wide "Transparencia en Corto" video competition for young people aged 15‑25. In Puebla, participants may submit either a 90‑second short film or a 15‑second micro‑video on the risks of artificial intelligence, with prizes of up to 20,000 pesos for first place. The deadline for physical submissions is 7 September and the digital deadline is 9 September; results will be announced on 21 September.

A parallel call has been issued in Tamaulipas, focusing on both disinformation and AI use. The contest follows the same format and prize structure, and winners will represent the state at the national stage. Submissions are accepted individually or in teams of up to five, and must be delivered in MP4 format, not exceeding 100 MB. The competition aims to foster creativity, social impact, and responsible use of new technologies among Mexican youth.
