Mexico leads world beer exports in 2025, pledges $6.4 bn investment

In 2025 Mexico became the world’s largest beer exporter, accounting for about 36 % of global export value and generating $6.48 billion in sales to 98 countries. The Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) reported that the United States was the top destination, followed by the Dominican Republic, Spain, Peru and Panama, while overall export volumes rose to 4.3 billion litres.

The Mexican brewing sector announced a $6.357 billion investment to strengthen competitiveness and sustainability. Karla Siqueiros, CEO of Cerveceros de México, highlighted that 73 % of inputs are sourced domestically, supporting more than 5,000 farming families. Companies such as Grupo Modelo and Heineken Mexico are focusing on water‑management, circular‑economy projects and social development, aiming to boost operational efficiency and environmental responsibility across the value chain.
