Mexico local authorities expand community support for the elderly
Local authorities in Mexico are expanding social infrastructure and support services for the elderly. In the Benito Juárez borough, Mayor Luis Mendoza celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Mixcoac branch of the Continuing Education Center for the Elderly (CECAM). The center provides academic, social, and personal development opportunities to help seniors remain active and integrated into the community.
In Mérida, Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada inaugurated the Sara Mena Integral Viva la Vida Club in the Pacabtún neighborhood. This marks the 12th such facility in the municipality. The club offers specialized services including gerontology, physical culture, therapeutic exercises, and geriatric nutrition, aiming to promote healthy aging and community participation in observance of International Day of Older Persons.
