Mexico makes history at UCI Road World Championships

The Mexican national cycling team achieved a historic milestone at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. The team became the first Latin American nation to compete in the mixed team time trial event.

Competing against 16 global cycling powers, the squad—consisting of Romina Hinojosa, Andrea Ramírez, Yareli Salazar, Sebastián Ruiz, Tomás Aguirre, and Ignacio Prado—finished in 14th place. Despite facing mechanical issues, including a broken chain and a flat tire, the team maintained their pace to complete the course.

While Italy secured the overall title, the Mexican performance is being recognized as a significant achievement for the region's presence in elite cycling.
