Mexico mandates transparency for Pemex and CFE subsidiaries

A decree published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación and effective this week requires the subsidiaries of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) to disclose their financial statements, contracts and corporate‑governance information. The rule expands the executive branch’s transparency obligations, obligating the entities to publish financial reports, administrative and operational data, constitutive acts, board composition, remuneration policies and other governance details, both for activities in Mexico and abroad. It also orders all federal agencies to update public‑contract information monthly on the National Transparency Platform.
