CONADE announces Orgullo Nacional 2027 host cities and name change

The National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE) has announced that the 2027 National Olympics will be renamed ‘Orgullo Nacional’ (National Pride). The multi-sport competition for children and youth will be hosted across several locations, including Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Hidalgo will host the 2027 Orgullo Nacional and the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Boccia Championship at the Ciudad Deportiva de Alto Rendimiento in Pachuca. Tamaulipas has been confirmed as the host for nine disciplines, including athletics, football, gymnastics, and volleyball. Other host states will manage various sports, with Hidalgo and Veracruz hosting the highest number of disciplines (13 each).

In other sports news, Mexican bodybuilder Ismael Martínez is set to compete in the 2026 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas. Additionally, Tlaxcala has been recognized as the 2027 American City of Sport by the Association of Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES).
