Mexico mobile registration deadline for numbers ending in 1
The deadline for Mexican mobile users with phone numbers ending in 1 to register their lines expires on August 31. Failure to complete this mandatory process may result in temporary service suspension.
According to the Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT), the registration requires users to link their mobile number with their identity using their CURP (Unique Population Registry Code). As of August 29, the national registration progress reached 64%, meaning more than one-third of the country's lines remain unregistered.
The procedure can be completed online through official mobile operator websites (such as Telcel, AT&T, or Movistar) or in person. The process involves providing the phone number, a verification code via SMS, a photo of an official ID, and a facial recognition “life test.” The CRT emphasizes that this registration is entirely free of charge.
