Mexico mobile registration deadline set for numbers ending in 2

The Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT) has established a mandatory registration schedule for mobile lines in Mexico. Users with phone numbers ending in '2' must complete the data linking process by September 15, 2026, to avoid service interruptions.

To comply, users must associate their phone number with their name and CURP directly through their respective telecommunications provider. Failure to meet the deadline will result in a suspension of calls, text messages, and mobile data within 72 hours. During suspension, users will only be able to contact emergency services, citizen assistance lines, their provider, and receive earthquake alerts.

The CRT has implemented a staggered deadline schedule throughout 2026 based on the final digit of the phone number:

• 0: August 15, 2026 • 1: August 31, 2026 • 2: September 15, 2026 • 3: September 30, 2026 • 4: October 15, 2026 • 5: October 31, 2026 • 6: November 15, 2026 • 7: November 30, 2026 • 8: December 15, 2026 • 9: December 31, 2026

Service is not permanently lost; once the registration is completed, providers will restore all mobile services.
