Mexico mobile users with numbers ending in 4 must register by October 15
Mobile phone users in Mexico whose numbers end in the digit 4 have until October 15, 2026, to link their lines to their identity to avoid temporary service suspension. This requirement is part of a mandatory registration process overseen by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT).
The registration process is free and can be completed through a mobile provider's digital platform or at a physical service center. To complete the procedure, users must provide a valid official identification and their CURP. Users can also complete the registration ahead of their assigned date.
Failure to comply will result in a gradual suspension of service within 72 hours after the deadline. Suspended lines will lose access to calls, SMS, and mobile data, though emergency services and citizen assistance numbers will remain accessible. Authorities warn that suspension may also impact linked services such as banking, email, and social media applications.
