Mexico names 26-man World Cup 2026 squad featuring Orbelín Pineda and Jorge Santos

Mexico announced a 26‑player squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the country will co‑host. The roster includes AEK Athens midfielder Orbelín Pineda and PAOK defender Jorge Santos, both of Greek club origin, as well as veteran goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, who will appear in his sixth tournament. The list also features a mix of defenders, midfielders and forwards drawn from clubs in Europe and the Americas. The selection follows Mexico’s group‑stage exit at Qatar 2022, raising expectations that the host nation will capitalize on home advantage.

The squad will compete in Group A alongside South Africa, with the tournament schedule spanning June and July 2026.
