Mexico opens health credential enrollment for Pension Bienestar beneficiaries, June 2026

Mexico's Ministry of Health is launching a registration process for a new Universal Health Service credential that will be required for beneficiaries of the Pension Bienestar program. The credential, which links users to an electronic medical record, will ease access to public medical services provided by IMSS, ISSSTE and IMSS‑Bienestar.

Registration begins in June 2026 and runs through November 2026, with modules set up in more than 2,000 locations across 24 states. Applicants are scheduled according to the first letter of their paternal surname; the June round closes on 30 June 2026. Required documents include an official photo ID, a recent proof of address and a contact phone number. The initiative targets older adults, people with disabilities and, for the second phase, individuals aged 30–64 who qualify for the support.
